European Commission to hand out grants to startups developing mobile technologies

 

Selected startups will receive 100.EUR 000 in non-refundable aid. This is the second edition of the program. In the previous one, 19 projects were awarded, including one from Poland.

The IMPACT Accelerator launches today a call for applications in a competition for the best business or research ventures related to the mobile Internet. This is the second edition of the program. This time €2.5 million will be allocated for non-refundable grants. In addition to financial support from EU funds, the organizers provide program participants with free access to state-of-the-art FIWARE technologies and comprehensive business advice.

The program has a European scope and is aimed at startups and small and medium-sized enterprises registered in the European Union.
Submitted projects or services must use FIWARE technologies. Their full catalog can be found at http://catalogue.fiware.org/enablers.
IMPACT supports ventures primarily related to mobile application development and the creation of business models based on mobile solutions. The gas pedal's field of interest is primarily technologies and services in the areas of communications, social media, video services, design, education, entertainment, e-commerce, security, infrastructure, finance and smart cities.
Entities that will create projects that enrich the market for mobile services and products in an innovative way and influence the popularization of modern FIWARE technologies will have the greatest chance of winning funding. In addition, an important criterion is the possibility of further development of the product or service, as well as expansion of the business to international markets.
Companies and individuals can apply to the project until April 30 via a form posted on www.fundingbox.com/p/impact-accelerator/.
Applications must be submitted in English.
The best apps will receive 90,000 euros in non-refundable financial assistance and a six-month accelerator program worth 10,000 euros.
In addition, the most promising projects will receive access to an investment program worth up to 250,000 euros and business contacts with potential investors and venture capital funds.
This is the second Open Call of three that will be conducted as part of the IMPACT Accelerator project. In the first edition, the organizers received 850 applications from 30 countries. Most from Spain (51%), Italy (17%) and Poland (7%).

About the IMPACT gas pedal
The inauguration of the IMPACT gas pedal took place on July 1, 2022 as part of the European Commission's Future Internet Public-Private Partnership Programme (FI-PPP).
